ABOUT
Unifora Semiexpanded is drawn at 112.5% of the standard proportions—wide enough to give each character room to breathe, restrained enough to remain viable for multi-line text. Within the Unifora uniwidth variable sans-serif superfamily, Semiexpanded is the editorial width: suited to marketing pages, premium product landing pages, longform articles, and any context where the typeface is expected to carry more visual presence without being limited to headlines.
It reads particularly well at mid-range sizes—18 to 36px—where Standard can feel dense and Expanded too wide for sustained reading. Semiexpanded is also effective in data visualization, where chart labels and axis annotations need to be prominent and scannable alongside the visual content.
Within Semiexpanded, the uniwidth principle applies: every glyph holds its advance width across all weights and styles, so the layout holds stable regardless of weight or slant. See the Unifora user’s manual for axis configuration and guidance on combining multiple widths in a single typographic system.
Unifora Semiexpanded comes with 9 weights and matching italic and retalic styles with slants up to 18°. The variable font includes two axes: weight and slant.
